Mind Over Body!
It is one event which I believe many people from different countries come all the way to Singapore to participate. It is definitely a big event which many have also been training up for.I embarked on marathon challenges even since last year when I did the 10km route. I never did expect myself to even come for such runs, what more talk about running 10km. Although I used to run cross country for my school in the pass as well as conquered Ubin with a 9km run during my OBS stay there, but doing 10km after in a way breaking for a long time for regular training was not something the normal me will do. Well I did conquer through 10km at the end last year! Amazing! Hence I told myself I will keep running till I reach the 42km distance and carry on for the following years from then on. This is why I am challenging myself to go on the 21km route this year, before I take on the full marathon journey! Other then the 10km Shears Bridge Army Half marathon which I did sometime back in August, frankly speaking I have not been running much. Comparing to last year I definitely did train more. Off course it is 2 more weeks before D day, so I will buck up! Haha..Seriously speaking, I never really like to run marathons, as it really is a mind over body thing. Many cant sustain through the race I believe not only because their physical body cant take it, but very much their mind have gave up fighting and wanting to carry on. Our mind need to be focused as well on the finishing line, such that we will be able to run finish the race strong! This can be applied to many things in our lives where unless we set our minds focus on the things we have, on the correct values and truth, then only will it motivate us to press on in a times of trails and obstacles. Let us have that conquering spirit and not give in to the body when it is weak but be focus in our minds for it is only with that that we will finish the race strong! Are you game enough to join me in the 42km neaxt year? Come join in the marathon! Haha!
